Also known as Fava Bean, the Broad Bean is grown and used all over the world. Normally the beans are taken out of the pod and eaten raw or cooked but on younger plants at the beggining of the season the whole pod can be eaten too.
These are ahead of season, hence the price and grown grown in Spain as the crop here is not yet ready
